Thermal Evaporation Crucibles

WINNERS METALS offers crucibles in a variety of sizes and materials to suit your evaporation needs. Thermal evaporation crucibles are used with shielded crucible heaters or basket heaters.

Evaporation boats are heated from the bottom and have less volume, while thermal evaporator crucibles hold more material and heat material from all sides, resulting in thicker films and fewer pump-down cycles.

High-capacity thermal evaporation sources are cylindrical vessels made of high-temperature materials such as refractory metals, oxides, nitrides, and graphite. These crucibles are surrounded by a resistive heater, which can be a coiled wire or a sheet metal in the form of a cylindrical basket.

Together, the basket heater and the cylindrical crucible assembly are referred to as the crucible heater. Their design allows heat to be evenly concentrated on the deposited material. These heaters are equipped with heat shields to reduce heat energy loss.
