Solid Bar-Stock Drilled Construction – Superior Mechanical Strength and Corrosion Resistance
WINNERS METALS flanged thermowells are manufactured using a solid bar-stock drilling process. Unlike welded tube-type thermowells, the one-piece construction eliminates weld seam weak points, offering higher structural strength and overall integrity to withstand continuous impact from high-pressure, high-velocity media. The flange is welded to the thermowell body, further ensuring long-term sealing reliability under alternating stress in wetted parts.
Wide Range of Material Options
WINNERS METALS offers an extensive selection of materials to meet diverse application requirements. Standard materials include SS304/SS316L stainless steel.
For highly corrosive media, special alloys such as Hastelloy® C276, Monel 400, Nickel 200, and Titanium are available.
For processes involving strong corrosive agents such as chlorine, bromine, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and sulfuric acid, a tantalum sleeve can be provided to cover wetted parts, effectively extending thermowell service life in extreme corrosive environments. Additionally, PTFE coating is available for enhanced corrosion and anti-stick protection.
Product Configuration Options
- WINNERS METALS offers three stem designs: Straight, Tapered, and Stepped. Tapered thermowells provide faster response times, making them particularly suitable for temperature-sensitive control loops.
- Instrument connections are available with BSPP, BSPT, and NPT threads to accommodate various thermocouple and RTD temperature sensors. Flange sealing faces can be supplied in RF, FF, and RTJ types as required.
