Product Description

The corrosion resistance of tantalum is the same as that of glass, and only fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, sulfur trioxide (including fuming sulfuric acid), strong alkali and some molten salts have an effect on tantalum at medium temperature (about 150°C). Metal tantalum is stable in air at room temperature, and when heated to higher than 500°C, it will accelerate oxidation to form Ta205.

As a biological material, tantalum has excellent compatibility with human body fluids. Tantalum staples are used in thoracic surgery to close blood vessels and arteries without allergic reactions, and in craniotomy to close holes in the skull. Other medical fields account for about 1%of tantalum consumption. The other 2%are used for military purposes.
