Product Description

The corrosion resistance of tantalum is the same as that of glass , and only fluorine , hydrofluoric acid , sulfur trioxide ( including fuming sulfuric acid ) ,

strong  alkali  and  some  molten salts have an effect on tantalum at medium tem perature ( about 150 °C ) .  Metal  tantalum  is  stable  in air at room

temperature, and when heated to higher than 500 °C, it will accelerate oxidation to form Ta205.

The current global annual consumption of tantalum  ( metal tantalum> about 900 tons ) .  The  electronics  industry  is  the largest and most optimistic

application field of tantalum ,  accounting  for  an  estimated  66%   of the total consumption .  The  second  application field is the cutting tool industry,

accounting for 22%  of the total consumption .  Tantalum ,  as a high-temperature strengthening additive  for superalloys ,  accounts for 6% of the total

consumption .  The consumption of tantalum and tantalum alloys in chemical equipment such as valves ,  heat  exchangers and  plug-in  heaters  in  the

chemicalsector accounts for 3 % .  As a biological material ,  tantalum has excellent compatibility with human body fluids .  Tantalum staples are used in

thoracic surgeryto close blood vessels and arteries without allergic reactions, and in craniotomy to close holes in the skull .  Other medical fields account

for about 1% of tantalum consumption. The other 2% are used for military purposes.
